Making Your Mark
a step by step guide
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Scissors Measuring jug • Trowel (to smooth the concrete) • Suitable implement to write with e.g. pencil, stick or bamboo skewer • Moisturiser or Rubber gloves (if you have sensitive or broken skin) • Damp Cloth • Phone or camera to record the moment
STEP 1
Before opening, lift the bag out of the box on to a flat solid, wipeable surface and shake the bag to loosen the mixture.
STEP 2
Measure out 1200ml of water, open the bag and pour it in. Try to cover as much of the mixture as possible.
STEP 3
Holding the bag closed, tip end over end for 5 minutes, squeezing as you go to ensure an even mix.
STEP 4
Once you are happy that all the water is mixed in, carefully tip the contents back in to the box. Choose an area where the box can be left to set, as it is not recommended to move it until completley dry.
STEP 5
Use a trowel to smooth and firm down the mixture. Making sure you push right in the corners. Take your time, you have 20 minutes to make your mark.
STEP 6
When making an impression, make sure the surface is not too wet, think about where you place your hands. If you are wanting to write a name or message be sure to leave enough room.
STEP 7
Press hands firmly in to concrete (use moisturiser/gloves if needed). You may need someone to help to press your hands down to make a good impression.
STEP 8
Write your name and/or message using your chosen implement. We recommend a blunt pencil, a bamboo skewer or Sharpie pen top.
STEP 9
After approx, 2 hrs of it drying time you can tidy up the lettering. Removing any loose material and smoothing any rough edges, blowing away any debris.
STEP 10
Cover the box to protect it from rain and frost and leave to dry for at least 48 hours before moving. Make sure it is completly dry before using it as a stepping stone in the garden.

After 1:30 -2:00 hrs of it drying you can tidy up the lettering. Removing and smoothing any rough edges and blowing away debris.
STEP 10
Leave to dry somewhere protected from rain and frost for at least 48 hours. Make sure it is completly dry before using it as a stepping stone in the garden.

The mix is only suitable for creating paving stones and not for construction • after wash hands with soap and water • dispose of packaging responsibly • Children must be supervised by an adult. Not suitable for children under three years, choking hazard.
